It's hard to let things go.

Responding to a prompt to write about “Something that is coming to an end” I kept coming back to the image of a yard sale. All those objects that once mattered, now spread out on folding tables with price tags, waiting for strangers to carry them away. There's something about endings that looks like junk on a front lawn. And there's something about letting go that feels like both relief and grief at the same time. This song is a confession that some goodbyes are harder than they need to be, even when we know they have to happen.
