Most of life happens on ordinary days.
Not Christmas morning or your wedding day. Not the mountaintop moments we wait for.
Just... Tuesday. Coffee. The couch. Showing up again.
I used to think the kingdom of God would look more glorious. More grand. But what if it's being built right here in the rituals, the routines, the quiet love that stays when the thrill fades?

This week's song is about being thankful for ordinary time. For the long, unremarkable season where life actually happens. Where we become who we are. Because honestly? I wouldn't want it any other way.

Lyrics

VERSE 1
Eighteen grams of Kenyan coffee, ground-up powder, fine
A stream of rich espresso, holy water turned to wine
Every sip a prayer to help me make it through the day
And I wouldn’t want it any other way

VERSE 2
I like sitting on the couch and reading dime-store mysteries
While you laugh at reels on Instagram; it feels like its our liturgy
Sometimes we stay quiet; other times there’s words to say
And I wouldn’t want it any other way

CHORUS
This kingdom that we're building isn't glorious or grand
It's an ordinary Tuesday walking with you hand in hand
It's showing up, it's being here, it's love that understands
And I wouldn't want it any other way

BRIDGE
I used to think adventure meant a spotlight and a stage
A thrill ride and adrenaline not quiet, small, or plain
But love is in the staying when the thrill has passed away
And I wouldn't want it any other way

ENDING
Tomorrow I'll make coffee, measured out and ground the same
And thank God for this life and love, and ordinary things
For the gift of friends and family I get to love along the way
And I wouldn't want it any other way
